Restorative Yoga: A Path to Calm and Reconnection
Little known and still uncommon in France, restorative yoga is a practice inspired by B.K.S. Iyengar, a master of therapeutic yoga. Its main goal is to calm the nervous system and harmonize bodily rhythms, such as breathing and heart rate.
Restorative yoga involves holding postures for several minutes without straining or tiring the muscles. The focus is on feeling, listening, and savoring the sensations of the body. Each posture is supported by props such as blocks, bolsters, and straps, allowing for the release of tension and the avoidance of muscle fatigue.

Trained in India in 2020, I view restorative yoga as an essential approach in our fast-paced world. It is crucial to slow down and reconnect with our bodies and sensations.
