Supporting Local Creators

More Than Just a Purchase

During the Christmas markets I was lucky enough to take part in last year, I found myself surrounded by talent. Passionate makers, committed entrepreneurs, people who — like me — have taken the bold leap to make a living from a heart-driven vocation.

It was during those events that I truly realized how rich we are, locally. Rich in creativity, ideas, and craftsmanship.
But it was also there that I witnessed a harder truth: the precarity faced by many artists and entrepreneurs, despite their clear talent.
Many struggle to make ends meet. Many face blunt comments about their prices or their creations. And while everyone is free to like or dislike something, it’s important to remember: when we display our work, we’re also laying ourselves bare. We show a part of who we are. We open ourselves up. We make ourselves vulnerable.

Yes, it’s a choice — to create, to share, to put ourselves out there — but it remains a brave act, one that can be emotionally taxing.

That’s why it’s so important to be kind to creators. To support them emotionally as well as financially.
And honestly? Both are equally valuable.
A heartfelt compliment, a kind word, a warm smile… these are soothing balms for the soul. Don’t hesitate to say what you feel — one word can brighten someone’s entire day, restore their confidence, and spark a ripple of encouragement.

Of course, buying from a local creator is a beautiful way to support their work.
But sometimes, it’s not the right time. It may not be what you need, or it may be out of your budget. And that’s totally OK.

👉 There are so many other ways to support a creator:

★ A kind word when browsing their market stall
★ A genuine, friendly conversation
★ Leaving a review on Google or their website
★ Word of mouth — still the most powerful tool, in my opinion
★ Following us on social media, liking, commenting, sharing… these small actions go a long, long way.

These gestures might be invisible to most, but they help us stay visible, motivated, and grounded.
They boost our visibility, strengthen our morale, and reconnect us to others.

You should also know: most small businesses and independent creators face heavy expenses. The first few years are especially fragile — many give up before they’ve even had a chance to be seen.
Not because they lack talent, but because they lack support, visibility, and stability.

So if you love what a maker or small business is doing — whether you buy or not — support them in your own way.
✨ It won’t cost you a thing.
💛 But for us, it can change everything.

Thank you for being here, truly.
And to all those who create with heart: I see you, I admire you. Keep going.
